"Summer is a period of luxurious growth. To be in harmony with the atmosphere of summer, awaken early in the morning and reach to the sun for nourishment to flourish as the gardens do. Work, play, travel, be joyful, and grow into selfless service. The bounty of the outside world enters and enlivens us." -Paul Pitchford, Healing with Whole Foods About the Class: According to Chinese Medicine, the fire element rules the heart and small intestine. The heart refers to the physical organ as wellas the mental emotional center. Imbalances of the heart-mind can result in depression, memory loss, poor circulation, scattered and confused thoughts, excess or no laughter, speech problems, weak spirit and aversion to heat. Please join acupuncturist and nutritionist, Nishanga Bliss and yoga teacher, Leigh Evans, to explore ways to enhance the vitality of your heart. This afternoon workshop will explore ways to awaken the heart meridian through yoga postures, acupressure points, and nutritional and lifestyle changes. |
