Teachers:
Heather Stewart

Heather came to yoga after a history as a collegiate athlete and feeling burnt out. What she found in yoga was a way to challenge herself on many different levels, adding a sense of peace and mindfulness to her being as well as bringing an element of healing into her life. With a fascination and passion for human anatomy, Heather is also a licensed Massage Therapist.

Coming to San Francisco from Boston, Heather earned her 200-hour Teacher Training certificate in 2004 under the guidance of Mimi Loureiro and O2 Yoga as well as the teaching of Beryl Bender Birch. She is heavily influenced by the Astanga tradition and teaches a challenging but less predictable vinyasa class that strives toward the union of breath and motion, with deep attention to alignment, incorporating both strength and flexibility. She invites students of all levels to explore that space of effort and surrender.
