Brenda McMorrow
Canadian singer/songwriter Brenda McMorrow has been performing music from a variety of traditions– from folk/pop to bluegrass to jazz – since 1992. Now - as meditation, yoga and expanding consciousness have become integral parts of her life – her true heart offering is to share her unique blend of sacred Indian devotional chants with diverse world beats and sublime original melodies. It was when Brenda participated in her first Sanskrit chant while attending a Yoga workshop in 2004, that she had a profound knowing her musical journey was leading her to places more expansive and heart-opening than she had ever imagined. While in India soon thereafter, Brenda began combining her own songwriting with ancient Sanskrit chants - and she has been flowing with this divine wave of Bhakti energy ever since! White Swan Records (Deva Premal/MC Yogi) has discovered the beautiful appeal of Brenda’s music and has just re-released her independent debut Kirtan album “Ameya” which will be followed by a release of her highly anticipated new album of Devotional songs in June, 2010. Both records have been produced by esteemed producer and multi-instrumentalist Ben Leinbach (Deva Premal/Jai Uttal) Brenda is excited to be embarking on her second tour of California backed by and supporting the Kirtaniyas for an exciting and diverse double bill.

“Brenda McMorrow’s CD Ameya is truly a lush offering in every sense, communicating her abundant devotion in a way which speaks to the heart and caresses the ears with spiritual sweetness and a rich palette of musical diversity” David Newman a.k.a Durga Das
